We basically did the same Newlands ride as a few weeks ago. Rather than repeat myself (I say shifting any ill-conceived ideas you had that I simply couldn’t be arsed to re-hash the same route in words again) I give you the report in a set of photos.

About the author

Dave's been riding seriously since about 1997 and is one of the founding Molefathers — along with Matt and Mark — that came up with the idea of a MTB website for Mole Valley riders.

He's had several different bikes but it's now mainly 29ers in Dave's stable, apart from an Orange 5.

Current Bikes: Orange 5, Salsa Spearfish and Kona Big Unit

    Great Piccies as usual JR.

    Did Al nick your bike?
Lloyd looks about ten years old!

    Nice smiley ride as ever.

  2. MuddyJohn says:

    Thanks Karl.

Well spotted – you don’t normally see Al in a blue Orange 5. He was kindly riding it down from where I’d abandoned it by the Level Crossing.

It was a beautiful day for a ride – I hope the first of many more this summer.

This has to a caption competition for those photos.

BTW. You look like you were having too much fun!

  4. paul901 says:

Agreed, really makes it feel like the rest of us missed out by not being there

  5. PaulM says:

    Yep…definitely missing out!
…but taking steps for that to change :))

  6. OrangeRoo says:

No pictures of Roo’s orange Orange – clearly I need a louder bike!

Thanks all for the ride – a real blast!

Must admit that even the thought of Mountain Mayhem makes me feel tired!
