Matt

Matt is one of the founding Molefathers of the Muddymoles, and is the designer and main administrator of the website.

An experienced rider, he still manages to fall off disconcertingly often. Nothing can account for this fact.

Current bikes include a Bird Aether 9, A Pace RC627 hardtail, a Cannondale Topstone gravel bike and a very niche Trek District 1 belt drive bike. A Merida Scultura Endurance bike provides road duties.

If you've ever wondered how Matt and the MuddyMoles got started, well wonder no more.

Ding Bike Lights - see all round

Ding Bike Lights – A light less ordinary

I’m not one for Kickstarter campaigns particularly, having seen too many poorly reimagined versions of things that work perfectly well as they are – Bluetooth bike locks needing phones to unlock them spring to mind for example. I saw this recently though and reckon it could offer a decent option for people who regularly ride in traffic. At night, obviously.

Ride report: Sunday 7 June – a gnarr too far?

Well today was an interesting day! After an enjoyable Friday evening in Tony’s man cave (not a euphemism), yesterday was on the low key side which meant I hadn’t checked the forum to see what was planned for Sunday’s ride. It turned out to bit a little different to what I expected.

Ride report: Friday slackers hit Afan and Cwm Carn

Well that turned out well! When someone suggests to you a couple of days in Wales in March, you don’t expect to be basking in temperatures pushing 13° but that’s exactly how things worked out. Thank goodness for Kev, our lucky weather gnome.

Ride report: Sunday 8 March – simply, Newlands Corner

Following the St David’s Day ride last Sunday the brightening weather saw the Moles diaspora spread far and wide. Some of us went south toward Peaslake (Southside Johnny and his shovel), some rambled on Ranmore with the gnarrsters (D’Andy, Al and Nick) and the rest of us joined Lay-Dave on a trip to Newlands.

Ride report: Sunday 28 September – bit of an epic

Phew, that was a big one! 32 miles for a Sunday ride was a pretty decent effort, and had a few of us flagging by the end of the ride. I said on the forum Saturday night I thought it was a tad ambitious, but nothing ventured, nothing gained eh?!
