Matt

Matt is one of the founding Molefathers of the Muddymoles, and is the designer and main administrator of the website.

An experienced rider, he still manages to fall off disconcertingly often. Nothing can account for this fact.

Current bikes include a Bird Aether 9, A Pace RC627 hardtail, a Cannondale Topstone gravel bike and a very niche Trek District 1 belt drive bike. A Merida Scultura Endurance bike provides road duties.

If you've ever wondered how Matt and the MuddyMoles got started, well wonder no more.

For the record

With a full year of riding stretching ahead of us, we thought it worth taking a few moments to log our respective bike mileages for posterity and a potentially sobering review in due course.

Miles better

So just how far did I ride in 2005? At the beginning o the year I thought I would try and keep track of my annual mileage for the sake of future comparison. It turns out to be far less than I had originally hoped.

Weight matters

I weighed in three pounds heavier than I am normally and found myself to be 11st 6 (I know, it doesn’t sound much but in percentage terms…). With Mark […]

Matt

One night in a pub, Dave, Mark and Matt got to discussing the ‘new breed’ of rugged looking bikes that were starting to appear. They were called ‘mountain bikes’…

If you build it they will come

Lumbering over the horizon comes the carcass of a blog designed to appeal to the tastes of anybody who has ever got muddy on a mountain bike, as opposed to putting on a tracksuit and ambling down a towpath on a Halfords £99 special one Sunday afternoon.
